Our client , a popular restaurant adjacent to the A12 road in Essex, wanted to install EV Chargers  in his large easily accessible car park , but was confused as to the charging options available and the  differing financial proposals offered by the EV Charging companies.

We fully analysed the location taking into account factors such as passing traffic , population density , local EV adoption , existing amenities , new housing projects etc . Using this information , we were able to maximise the potential value of the premises- the car park  being open 24/7 further helped  in this respect.

 We then presented the client with a choice of proposals from our EV Charging partners .

 This involved considering what type of chargers would be most suitable for the location , what duration of lease was most beneficial and crucially , the financial incentives offered.

The client agreed with our recommendations and decided to accept the offer that included 6 Super Fast chargers, a 20 year lease that provided a guaranteed yearly rental of £3000 per charger (increasing annually by the rate of inflation CPI), plus a share in future profits.

The client just wanted to be able to forget about the chargers once they were installed, so it was important to them that all ongoing maintenance of the chargers be included.

The end result is 6 super fast , reliable charging bays producing a minimum annual income of £18,000 from spaces that previously had no economic value. These  are used by existing customers , but  , most importantly , attract a considerable number of new customers to his restaurant.

And , best of all , no fees , no cost , no timewasting for the Client!!

This is our latest Billboard advert going up all over the UK as we search for the best EV Charging Locations.

How do we get theses figures?

Firstly , some assumptions ;

1. Each charging bay  gets an average of 6 visits per day in year one. One charger supports two bays.

2. 80% of drivers  use the facilities nearby

3. Each driver spends on average £21.94.

If you have only one charger installed this means 80% of  12 visits per day , at an average spend of £21.94 , over 365 days.

12×21.94 x365 =  £96,097 x 0.8 = £76,877

How realistic is this?

Obviously,  those sites with amenities such as food and drink will attract more spending than a Car Park with no local amenities , but our data -collected from real time monitoring of our chargers and from customer and in store surveys – supports these basic assumptions.
